The New Theatre Company is not really “new” at all. It’s commitment to vibrant, contemporary theater began in 1994. The company creates opportunity for emerging artists and their works, and puts “new” in theatre by expanding the range of available theatrical offerings and educational experiences. New Theatre Company is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the very best in relevant, provocative and affordable contemporary theatre for the Wood River Valley. Its members share their knowledge through workshops for schools, the theatre community, and the community-at-large. Taking risks and giving voice to perspectives that may have been silenced or ignored gives audiences the opportunity to engage in reflection and conversation about their experiences. Past productions include Pulitzer Prize winning plays “Wit” and “Proof”. The company is presently examining current works for it’s upcoming season.
