Founded in 1984, Footlight Dance Centre is dedicated to the enhancement of young people through the discovery and performance of a variety of dance forms. The goal of the Centre is to expose students to the discipline, and artistic, musical, and mental development that dance has to offer. Throughout the year, Footlight Dance Centre provides dance programs in Creative Movement, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Tap, and Pilates for students aged 4 to adult. The Centre also brings guest teachers to the Wood River Valley to teach workshops in other dance forms, such as Flamenco and African. The Senior Performance Company of students presents educational performances in the schools and community. Summer Workshops are offered for varying age groups and disciplines. These include Dance in the Mountains, DANCEcamp, Fall Dance Refresher, and Cecchetti Ballet Syllabus classes. Performing opportunities are provided throughout the year, including an annual performance featuring the entire school. Classes are offered in Ketchum at High Altitude Fitness and in Hailey at the Community Campus and Grange Hall.
